Janet ADAMS (1920-2006)
THIS IS YOUR LIFE - Janet Adams, Red Cross nurse, was surprised by Eamonn Andrews.
In a remarkable career with the British and International Red Cross, Janet nursed the sick and injured in areas of natural disasters and war zones worldwide for 25 years.
She served in Malaya during the dangerous early years of the Emergency from 1949, on hurricane relief in Grenada in the 1950s and with relief for refugees in Uganda. She supported war casualties in Yemen in the 1960s, in the Mekong Delta during the Vietnam War, and with medical and nutritional relief in Bangladesh in the 1970s.
