THIS IS YOUR LIFE - Diana Coupland, actress and singer, was surprised by Eamonn Andrews.
Diana, who was born in Leeds, began singing professionally on BBC radio at the age of 15 and was singing full-time at the Mecca Lounge in Leeds at 18. She later moved to London, became a resident singer at Mecca's Tottenham Court Road ballroom, and sang at the Dorchester and Savoy hotels.
In 1959, she was cast by Joan Littlewood in the musical Make Me An Offer, which led to appearances in West End shows such as Gigi and Not Now, Darling. After making her television debut in a 1961 episode of Emergency - Ward 10, she later appeared in series such as Dixon of Dock Green and Z-Cars. In 1971, she was cast in the ITV sitcom Bless This House - a role which made her a household name.
