Sheila MERCIER Annie Sugden 13 November 1985 Eamonn disguised himself as a farm hand and rode a horse and cart to the Emmerdale Farm set as the cast gathered for a photo shoot to celebrate the 1000th edition of the soap opera. Dinah Sheridan, Frank Thornton and her brother Brian Rix are among those who pay tribute to Sheila, who has been with the series since its very first episode. |

Stan RICHARDS Seth Armstrong 10 April 1991 The former pub entertainer and stand up comedian who originally joined the soap in 1978 for a 4 week stint, was surprised by Michael on the set of the show's pub - The Woolpack - while recording a 'dummy' trailer for the show. |

Frazer HINES Joe Sugden 14 October 1992 Another photo shoot for another milestone – this time for the show's 20th anniversary - was interrupted by Michael outside The Woolpack in order to surprise Frazer - another original member of the cast. |

Richard THORP Alan Turner 13 July 1994 Richard, whose career began in British films in the 1950s, appeared briefly in another well known television soap, Crossroads - before joining Emmerdale Farm in 1982. Michael surprised him in The Woolpack, and his guests include actors Muriel Pavlow and Ian Bannen. Unfortunately, Richard suffered a well-publicised heart attack at the after-show party. |
