Derek DOUGAN (1938-2007)
THIS IS YOUR LIFE - Derek Dougan, footballer, was surprised by Eamonn Andrews.
Derek began his footballing career at Distillery in his native Belfast, helping them win the Irish Cup in 1956, before playing for a series of English clubs during the 1960s, including Portsmouth, Blackburn Rovers, Aston Villa, Peterborough United and Leicester City.
After joining Wolverhampton Wanderers in March 1967, he helped the club win promotion out of the Second Division, lift the Texaco Cup in 1970 and the League Cup in 1974, and play in the 1972 UEFA Cup final. He won 43 senior caps in a 15-year international career with Northern Ireland between 1958 and 1973, scoring eight goals and playing in the 1958 World Cup.
