Jean BOHT (1932-2023)
THIS IS YOUR LIFE - Jean Boht, actress, was surprised by Michael Aspel during a publicity photo call with the cast of the BBC television sitcom Bread at Euston Station in London.
Jean, who grew up in the Wirral, began performing with the Birkenhead Amateur Operatic Society before training with the Liverpool Playhouse, where she started her career as a theatre actress. She joined Joan Littlewood's Theatre Workshop at Stratford East in London in 1970 before working at the National Theatre and the Bristol Old Vic.
On television, she appeared in various series, notably in the ITV comedy Funny Man and the BBC drama Boys From The Blackstuff, before gaining national recognition in 1986 as Nellie Boswell in Carla Lane's Liverpool-based BBC television sitcom Bread.
