Celebrating television's This Is Your Life
Bobby DAVRO (1958-)
THIS IS YOUR LIFE – Bobby Davro, comedian and impressionist, was surprised by Michael Aspel - with the help of Gary Wilmot - at the curtain call of a matinee performance of the musical Me and My Girl at the Adelphi Theatre in London.
Bobby, who was born in Ashford, Kent, started his entertainment career as a teenager, performing in Variety Clubs at night while working in retail by day. Having turned professional, he honed his act on the club circuit across the country.
In 1985, he got his big break on television with an appearance on ITV's variety show, Live From Her Majesty's, which led to ITV offering him his own series. In 1987, Bobby was voted Britain's funniest man.
"Oh no! How can you do this to me? I don't believe it! Dear, oh dear! What can I say? My legs have gone!"
