Celebrating television's This Is Your Life
Liza GODDARD (1950-)
THIS IS YOUR LIFE - Liza Goddard, actress, was surprised by Eamonn Andrews during a photo shoot to launch the new Theatre of Comedy company at London's Ambassador's Theatre.
Although born in Staffordshire, Liza began her acting career in Australia - where her father worked as Head of Drama at the Australian Broadcasting Company – appearing in the first two series of Skippy the Bush Kangaroo. After returning to the UK she made her first major impact on British television in 1969 with the award winning Take Three Girls and went on to star in the BBC's detective series Bergerac.
Liza also worked extensively in theatre, as well as appearing in the television sitcoms Yes, Honestly and Pig in the Middle. She met her husband - the singer Alvin Stardust - at the recording of Michael Aspel's This Is Your Life in May 1980, and they married the following year.
"Oh – you're joking! I don't know what to say! It's very kind of you all for coming!"
