Celebrating television's This Is Your Life
As the 1970s reached its halfway point, This Is Your Life continued to rank high in the ratings, presenting a familiar and winning mix of subjects that included top-class sports stars, actors, entertainers, musicians, television personalities, and experts, as well as seasonal specials for Christmas and the New Year.
This series features two of the programme's staple choice of subjects during the mid-1970s, a lifeboatman and a cast member from the ITV soap opera - and This Is Your Life's frequent rival for the top spot in the ratings - Coronation Street!
TV Times magazine marked the launch of new series with a rare in-depth and frank interview with the programme's presenter Eamonn Andrews.
Later in the year, Eamonn Andrews presented a special two-hour live edition of This Is Your Life dedicated to ITV itself. The programme, which celebrated 21 years of independent television, featured several former subjects and was covered by TV Times magazine.
