Celebrating television's This Is Your Life
Ted MOULT (1926-1986)
THIS IS YOUR LIFE - Ted Moult, farmer and broadcaster, was surprised by Eamonn Andrews at the BBC Television Theatre.
Ted left Derby School aged 17 in 1944 and had established his first dairy farm in Sinfin, on the outskirts of Derby, by the age of 22.
He first came to public attention in the 1950s on BBC Radio's general knowledge quiz Brain of Britain, although he was knocked out in the first round. His later appearances on discussion programmes such as Any Questions and panel games such as Ask Me Another made him a household name by the mid-1960s.
