Celebrating television's This Is Your Life
Harry WORTH (1917-1989)
THIS IS YOUR LIFE - Harry Worth, comedy actor and comedian, was surprised by Eamonn Andrews at Manchester’s Gaumont cinema.
Although Harry began his working life as a miner, he developed a taste for show business while performing in RAF variety shows during the Second World War. His early act involved ventriloquism which he had taught himself from a borrowed book.
Harry toured his variety act extensively for many years before breaking into radio, with his own show Thirty Minutes Worth, and then television from 1960 with his series The Trouble With Harry and Here’s Harry.
