Keith MICHELL (1926-2015)
THIS IS YOUR LIFE - Keith Michell, actor, was surprised by Eamonn Andrews while filming a scene for the film Henry VIII and His Six Wives at Elstree Studios.
Keith, who was born in Adelaide, South Australia, began his career as an art teacher before making his professional acting debut in 1947 in the comedy Lover's Leap at Adelaide's Playbox Theatre. He moved to Britain in 1949 to study at the Old Vic Theatre School.
He appeared extensively in Shakespeare and other classic plays, as well as musicals in Britain and also on Broadway, before achieving national fame for his portrayal of King Henry VIII in the BBC television series The Six Wives of Henry VIII - a role which earned him both a BAFTA and an Emmy award for best actor.
