Celebrating television's This Is Your Life
Moira ANDERSON (1938-)
THIS IS YOUR LIFE - Moira Anderson, singer, was surprised by Eamonn Andrews.
Moira, who was born in Kirkintilloch, Scotland, trained at the Royal Scottish Academy of Music and Drama in Glasgow. She got her big break presenting her own BBC radio programme, Can't Help Singing, which led to appearances on the hugely popular TV show The White Heather Club with Andy Stewart and an international concert tour with Kenneth McKellar.
She subsequently hosted her own television shows on the BBC, the popular Moira Anderson Sings in 1968 and Moira in Person in 1973. She recorded many albums for the Decca Record Company and made guest appearances on various television programmes, including Stars On Sunday.
