Celebrating television's This Is Your Life
Martin JARVIS (1941-)
THIS IS YOUR LIFE - Martin Jarvis, actor, was surprised by Michael Aspel while being interviewed by Gyles Brandreth on his LBC radio show.
Martin, who was born in Cheltenham and raised in South Norwood, trained at the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art, graduating in 1962 with a Silver Medal and the Vanbrugh Award. His first professional stage work was with the Manchester Library Theatre, which led to his West End debut in 1964, followed by three years with the Royal National Theatre.
He appeared in the highly successful BBC television costume drama The Forsyte Saga, which made him a star at the relatively early age of 25. His other television work includes an adaptation of David Copperfield, and the BBC sitcom Rings on their Fingers, while his film appearances have included Buster and Titanic.
"Michael - I do not believe this! How absolutely outrageous!"
