The growing popularity of radio and the development of the disc-jockey were trends not ignored by This Is Your Life. From the BBC Home Service, via pirate and commercial, through to digital, the show regularly highlighted those radio personalities who became household names.

Terry WOGAN 19 April 1978 In a move which made that day's newspaper headlines, Eamonn interrupted Terry's morning radio broadcast to surprise him live on air. The remainder of Terry's Radio 2 show was then broadcast from the back seat of a car that drove him from Broadcasting House to Thames Television's Euston Road Studios, where his tribute was then recorded at 9.30 in the morning! |

Stuart HENRY 30 November 1983 It was at Kensington's Tara Hotel where Eamonn surprised Stuart by jumping out from inside a birthday cake - supplied to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Radio Luxembourg - where the DJ had worked since 1974. Stuart - who suffers with multiple sclerosis - joined Radio 1 at its launch in 1967, and his tribute sees a reunion of the station's original line-up of DJs. |
