Celebrating television's This Is Your Life
Jonathan ROSS (1960-)
THIS IS YOUR LIFE - Jonathan Ross, television and radio presenter, was surprised by Michael Aspel at the BBC Television Centre while recording the television programme It's Only TV But I Like It.
Jonathan began his career in broadcasting in 1982 as a researcher with the then newly formed Channel 4, moving in front of the camera five years later to present The Last Resort, a late-night chat show made by his own production company, Channel X.
He went on to present offbeat documentaries and celebrity interviews, as well as the British Comedy Awards and the variety show Saturday Zoo. Then, after some time away from television to concentrate on writing, he returned to host The Big Big Talent Show for ITV before taking over presenting the BBC's long-running Film review programme in 1999.
