Celebrating television's This Is Your Life
Dr Rob BUCKMAN (1948-2011)
THIS IS YOUR LIFE - Rob Buckman, doctor, comedian and author, was surprised by Eamonn Andrews while filming a comedy sketch at University College Hospital in London.
Rob, who was born in Hampstead, London, studied at University College School and graduated in medicine from St. John's College, Cambridge, in 1972. He continued his medical training at the Royal Marsden Hospital and University College Hospital, London, before becoming a Fellow of the Royal College of Physicians.
While at Cambridge, he performed with the University Footlights and, after graduating, continued to appear in comedy revues at the Hampstead Theatre Club and the Mermaid Theatre, which led to appearances on several television and radio programmes, including BBC radio's Just a Minute and ITV's The Pink Medicine Show and Don't Ask Me.
"Oh come on... this is a terrible impersonation of Eamonn Andrews! Who's paying you to do this? Can I get parole or something?"
